Mission Statement

Liberty Retreat exists to provide a getaway in a rural setting that will renew and refresh the walk of faith for kids, veterans and church leaders.

Statement of faith

  • There is one and only one living and true God, revealed as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, each having distinct personal attributes which relate to man. God sovereignly reigns over all. He sent Jesus to earth by way of the virgin birth to make a way for man to be reconciled to God. He sends the Holy Spirit to convict men of sin and indwell, teach and train all believers. The mission of the Holy Spirit is to exalt Christ.

  • Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created man male and female as part of the goodness of His creation. Man was created by God with free choice. When man chose to sin against God, his original innocence was lost and his relationship with God was destroyed. His posterity inherits this separated condition and must rely on God’s grace through Jesus’ death on the cross to have that relationship restored.

  • The foundational institution of society, ordained by God, is the family. Persons related to one another by marriage, blood or adoption compose a family.

Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime.

  • Members of New Testament churches should cooperate with one another in carrying forward the missionary, educational, and benevolent ministries for the extension of Christ’s Kingdom. Christian unity in the New Testament sense is spiritual harmony and voluntary cooperation for common ends by various groups of Christ’s people.

  • There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord. Salvation is offered freely to all. Jesus purchased eternal redemption for all who place their faith in the completed work of Christ on the cross.

  • Divinely inspired men were directed by the Holy Spirit to write the Holy Bible. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. Contained within it are the principles by which all human conduct, creeds and religious opinions should be evaluated. It will remain until the end of the world and is the standard by which we will be judged.

  • A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the two ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. Its scriptural officers are pastors and deacons.

The New Testament speaks also of the church as the Body of Christ which includes all of the redeemed of all the ages, believers from every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation.

  • It is the duty and privilege of every church and child of God to seek constantly to win the lost to Christ. The responsibility of making disciples of those who experience the new birth is mandated in Scripture. This duty extends to the entire world.
